How to Inspire and Influence People through Praise

“….the Lord has anointed me to ….give them the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit”---Isaiah 61:1-3 (RSV)

Let us try to understand the meanings of the keywords
And then try to apply and analyze them.

Keyword 1: ANOINTED:

To be anointed means: to be empowered; given ability, power or unction; a might or an enablement to do something.

TRUTH: When God created you He has anointed you…put inside of you power  and enablement to be able to fulfill your purpose in life.

Keyword 2: TO GIVE: God created us to GIVE.

Yes; we are in this world to reproduce, fill, replenish, add and give value to this world.
Have you ever asked yourself this question: “Why is that when a man dies he takes nothing along to his grave?”

Here is the answer: A man was created to GIVE, therefore we all came to live a giving life.
We are anointed to GIVE.
There is so much we can give…
Our talents, love, care, strength, money, skills, knowledge, resources…just name it.
A life that is not constantly giving out something is perhaps living out of His Divine Order.

 Keyword 3: MANTLE OF PRAISE:

First of all, let’s know the meaning of the word ‘mantle’
According to Webster dictionary, mantle means ‘a loose sleeveless outer garment or something that covers or wraps’.

This is amazing!

The truth it offers is just mind blowing.
What then is mantle of praise?
It means… a praise that wraps or covers one like a garment!

TRUTH: We have been appointed and anointed to give out praise that will wrap or cover others like a garment. It’s like buying a beautiful cloth for someone!

To cloth people with PRAISE, we must learn to praise people genuinely and generously.
Let us not let the garment of praise we have to rust in our wardrobe.
We must give it out!

Keyword 4: FAINT SPIRIT:

This is what you must never do.
But the truth is that I have seen too many people do this all the time.

What is a faint spirit?

Faint spirit means to be broken-hearted; downcast; hopeless; depressed; mourning; sad and discouraged.
Giving a faint spirit means causing people to be discouraged; beaking people’s heart; causing them pain and taking away their joy.

Are you one of those that give out faint spirit instead of a mantle of praise? (EXAMINE YOUR WAYS)
You must go back to your divine order.

We are always very quick to criticize and judge when the job is done poorly, and we are very slow to give out praise and compliment when to job is done well.
