How to Get to the Top in Life

The way to the top is climbing the ladder of life rather than waiting for a lifter or an elevator.

Success is a journey, not a destination.

I had rather try and fail than to do nothing and succeed.

Every dream or desire is a locked door which needs to be open with a key, rather than waiting for it to open itself and come to you when you are sleeping.

Life is not magical or miraculous; it is a well work-out practical-action process to your existence.

Believe it or not, if you want to be the next-level person, you must be willing to climb the ‘hills’ and ‘ladder’ of life before you can get there.

In this write-up, we want to use Joseph as our case study. Joseph is a practical example on how anyone can successfully to get to the way of life. (Go and read and study the life of Joseph in you Bible for full understanding).

These are some of the powerful lessons Joseph revealed to us if we want to reach the top.

1.       A dream… A BIG ONE: “Now Joseph had a dream and when he told his told his brothers there only hated him the more”(Genesis 37:5)
Your enemies are not just interested in you righteousness, prayer or holiness; they are bothered about you DREAM. The devil knows that if he can stop you dreams he can stop everything good about you.

You must note here that, not everyone you tell about you dream will be happy with you. Some may criticize, ridicule or underrate you, but the truth is that no one understand what you have on your head well enough than yourself.

Then he dreamed another dream (Genesis 37:9)
Joseph did not just dream, he had to dream a higher dream. He knew that the size of his dream is what will determine the size of his reward

Your enemies will not let you rest when you have a big dream.
Do not measure your dream with what you have or don’t have. You are bigger than you can imagine. Dream big! You can achieve it. It’s very possible.

#I have a dream.
My dream is to become a positive change agent in life; to discover and fulfill my purpose on earth; to create uncommon value and make people happy; to live in the memory of thousand, even millions of people when I pass on (dead).
What is your own dream?

2.      DON’T PANIC AGAINST THE STORM

The first magnetic power of a dream is problems- the quick storm.
As soon as you have that dream, you will start facing some follow-up trials. This is the reason why many dreams are cut-short and shut-out. Many people expect that when they have a dream, the next 30 seconds it should be manifesting. But it doesn’t walk out like that. Joseph taught us that we should panic against any storm. The reason is because it’s the manifesting process of our dream. The storms that appear like destroying our dream will end up taking us to our success.
Joseph taught us that problems may be thrown at us by the devil, but God turns it as a creative process and a helping tool for our achievement.
  BLESS BE GOD FOR THAT!

3.      STEWARDSHIP: We are born to serve. To serve God and humanity. The law of reciprocal states that: if you can serve others well enough, people will serve you long enough.
The law of management states: that if you cannot manage another man’s property you will destroy your own when you have them.
One major unsolved problem we face in our society is that too many people want to be served and never want to serve. But the truth is that if you are too big to serve people you will be too small to be served by others. (Mark this statement).
“And Joseph found grace in is sight, and he served him, and he made him overseer over his house, and that entire he had he put in his hand”. (Genesis 39:4).
Portipher left all that he had in Joseph’s hand. He had Joseph’s trust and loyalty which was bigger than his possession. We are born to serve and offer services. Be diligent in stewardship, not measuring your salary wage or compensation with your performance or effort. Stewardship is the board-room for promotion. Serve others the way you want to be served. Stewardship is a reflection of Leadership, not slavery.

4.Run away from immorality:There is none great in this house than I ; neither  hath he kept back anything from me but the, Because thou art his wife : how then can I do this great wickedness ,and sin against God ? [Genesis 39:9]

First Lesson:
Your position or possession in life is not a qualification for immorality. Back-yard sex kills.
Be fearful enough to run like ‘Usain Bolt’ when you see or sense immorality no matter your power, wealth, influence or position.

Second Lesson
Never betray Someone’s trust in you. It might be all he has got.
The most painful slap is the betrayal of trust, not love. It doesn’t break the heart; it explode it without repair
Trust is precious than sex or money; Don’t even give it away when you have it. It’s too precious.

Third Lesson
Sin is the Killer of dream
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
If for any reason, never sin against God. God is the pivotal and controller of your destiny.
If you can displease the whole world including yourself just to make him happy…DO IT .
A life of sin is a life of destruction.
The sin of immorality is the number one killer of dream.
It turns a person into any empty drum. It takes away your integrity and honor. The sowing of sex morality takes no longer than five to thirty minutes, but the reaping takes a lifelong affliction.
The rule for back-yard Sex (I mean illicit sex) is to… RUN AWAY.

5.      SOLVE A PROBLEM.
And Joseph came to them in the morning and saw them, they were troubled. So he asked pharaoh’s officers who were with him in the custody of his master’s
“why are your face downcast today?”
  (Genesis 40: 6 – 7)

The Secret of Success is: Don’t be interested in your problems, be interested in people.
In spite of Joseph’s condition and pain in the prison, he was so interested in the other prisoners’ welfare. He wanted to solve a problem. He wanted to make an impact. He wanted to create uncommon value. He wanted to be a solution to people’s lives.
Instead of Saying, ‘how do I get out of here’, He was rather saying, ‘What is the problem?
The fastest way to get out of any problem in life is to help someone get out of his problems. (Keep this word in your heart always).
Have a passion to solve problems, and you will become truly great. (Believe this truth).

6. GAINING REWARD.
But remember me, when it is well with you, and do me the kindness, I pray you,
To make mention of me to pharaoh, and so get me out of this house. (***)

    RULE NUMBER ONE
Make use of your gifts, talent, skill or knowledge to solve someone’s problem and you create a good name for yourself in the process.
Joseph used his gift of interpretation to solve the other prisoner’s dreams.

RULE NUMBER TWO
Try your best to maximize yourself (your abilities). People are always ready to dance, but the problem is that they are waiting for your music to be played.
Don’t ever believe that you don’t need people because you have God. God is a spirit, so he can only reach you through someone.
Joseph knew that was why he was saying to the prisoner that was about to gain his freedom to remember him when he gets out.
Seeking help from someone doesn’t really make me less or depreciate your faith in God, rather it gives you option.

RULE NUMBER THREE
You need to have an expectation. You must believe you can have what you are looking for. Mix faith with expectation.
Joseph made his request with an expectation. He wanted to get out of the prison that was his resounding expectation.
If you don’t have an expectation, you will be stuck up in limitations and never really going to achieve your ideal realization.
Don’t say there is no need saying it because I know nobody will help me. Always have faith and ask for help.

7. ACKNOWLEDGE GOD

Joseph answered pharaoh, it is not in me; God will give pharaoh a favorable answer. (Genesis 41:16). When we commit our ways and actions to God who knows all things, He will establish our path and give us good success.

Learn these principles and work with them.

You are on your way to the top. You are unstoppable!
